Job Purpose:
Proactively monitor, conduct level 2 troubleshooting, and escalate all incidents and problems raised within the Network Operation Center (NOC), which will or has the potential to degrade bank services, and ensure service delivery meets and exceeds business customers expectations by maintaining the value of the services.

Main Responsibilities:

Main Responsibilities:
    Relationship Management and Business growth

Senior Analyst; Client Origination (1 Position(s))

Job Purpose:
To evaluate counter-party credit risks associated with Wholesale Banking lending at the client interface, with the primary objective to contain credit risk within acceptable parameters. Responsible to develop and maintain close relationships with the broader lending, Structured Trade finance and co-financier community with a view to facilitating the syndication and co-financing of sovereign (public sector) and non-sovereign (private sector) borrowing customers and originate and execute transactions across Wholesale Banking customers.
Main Responsibilities:
    Strategic Focus

  • Provide direct (specialist/ professional) credit evaluation services at the customer interface and apprise client application timely within short Turn Around Time.
  • Identify credit and risk management requirements at the source of the deal negotiation/ business proposal.
  • Conduct credit evaluation interviews during deal negotiation to obtain sufficient and appropriate information to evaluate business risk and deal viability, from a credit risk perspective.
  • Decline non-viable deals at source, however, work in partnership with Head, Wholesale Client Origination, Relationship Managers and clients to identify alternatives that could bring deals/ proposals within risk acceptable parameters relative to profitability.

Job Purpose:
Act as a Bank analytics partner to the business, turning data into decisions that leadership and the business units can act on. Responsible to own the business side of data, what the business needs from it, and the analysis, models, dashboards, and insight built on top of it. Closely working with all business and reporting tools.
Main Responsibilities:
    Business Unit Partnership & Demand Management

  • Act as the single point of contact for analytics across the business units understanding each units commercial objectives, agreeing an analytics agenda with each Business Head, and keeping it aligned to the Banks strategy.
  • Gather, challenge, and consolidate data and reporting demand from across the business into a single prioritized pipeline, so that scarce engineering capacity goes to the highest-value work rather than to whoever asks loudest.
  • Agree service expectations with business stakeholders on what will be delivered, to what quality, by when and manage expectations honestly when trade-offs are required.
  • Embed analytics into business routines, this entails performance reviews, planning cycles, product launches, and campaign post-mortems.

    Coordination of Data Engineering & Technical Capability (CTOs Team)

  • Translate business questions into clear, unambiguous technical requirements — data sources, definitions, granularity, refresh frequency, and acceptance criteria — for the CTOs data engineering, platform, and architecture teams.
  • Coordinate and sequence the Banks data engineering demand with the CTOs teams joint prioritization, delivery planning, dependency management, and escalation where timelines or quality are at risk.
  • Act as business owner and acceptance authority for data products delivered by technology such as pipelines, data marts, semantic layers, and reporting infrastructure, signing off only when they meet the businesss stated requirements.
  • Work with the CTOs teams to drive down data latency, moving, processing and reporting from D1 towards near real time, and to raise the level of automation, scheduled jobs, robust pipelines, and self-serve reporting so manual effort falls across both functions.
  • Contribute the business perspective to data architecture, tooling, and platform decisions, so that what is built serves how the Bank runs.
  • Maintain a shared view of data definitions and business logic between the business and technology, so there is one trusted version of the truth and business units are not reconciling competing numbers.

    Business Intelligence, Monitoring & Reporting

  • Define the requirements for, and own the business content of, real-time monitoring dashboards that detect transaction spikes and dips, liquidity and float shortages across channels, and fraud or anomaly patterns, protecting service uptime, customer experience, and revenue, and cutting incident response times.
  • Design and maintain the Banks management dashboards and self-serve reporting layer, working on the platforms provided and supported by the CTOs teams.
  • Prepare analytics inputs for Management, Board, and regulatory reporting cycles to the required standard and timelines.

    Performance Tracking & Insight Generation

  • Serve as the central resource for business analytics track and report on all active and launched strategic initiatives and projects and coordinate the collection and assembly of annual operating plans and budgets.
  • Produce scorecards and ranking tables for business performance by segment, product, channel, region, branch, and relationship team highlighting deviations from target, developing hypotheses in consultation with departmental heads, and proactively raising red flags on initiatives that are not meeting objectives.
  • Propose data-based amendments to strategies and initiatives to enhance or accelerate the attainment of business objectives.
  • Conduct regular and ad-hoc deep-dive analyses to explain trends that are not immediately understood across the business.

    Advanced Analytics & Predictive Modelling

  • Lead the development of predictive and optimization models that lift profitability, operational efficiency, and customer experience including deposit and liquidity forecasting, transaction volume forecasting, channel capacity planning, and pricing and yield optimization.
  • Identify new opportunities to apply machine learning and statistical modelling to commercial problems customer attrition and churn prediction, cross-sell and up-sell propensity, customer lifetime value, next-best-action, credit risk and collections analytics, and fraud and anomaly detection.
  • Work with the CTOs teams on the deployment, hosting, and ongoing monitoring of models in production, with clear ownership of model performance and business outcomes retained by this role.
  • Partner with Risk and Credit teams to ensure models developed within the analytics function meet the Banks model governance, validation, and documentation standards.

    Team Leadership & Analytics Delivery

  • Lead and manage the Strategy analytics team - Data Analysts and Data Scientists delivering end-to-end analytical solutions on top of the data platforms provided by technology.
  • Set the teams priorities, development plans, and performance standards; recruit, coach, and retain strong analytics talent.
  • Promote a data-driven culture across the Bank by aligning analytics outputs with strategic objectives, and by building analytical capability within the business units themselves so decisions at executive level are faster and better informed.

    Data Quality, Governance & Compliance

  • Act as business data steward for the analytics domain, own business data definitions, quality rules, and reconciliation standards, and work with the CTOs teams to have them enforced at source and in the pipelines.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing rigorous reconciliation processes for financial and management reporting and for audits, in line with regulatory and industry requirements, including Bank of Tanzania regulations and applicable data protection legislation.
  • Define and maintain process compliance, standard operating procedures, and data policies for the analytics function; coordinate with Internal Audit and Controls to confirm testing adherence.
  • Safeguard responsible data handling, access controls, customer data privacy and confidentiality, and documentation, across the analytics function, in line with the security standards set by technology.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong SQL and hands-on experience with at least one analytics language (Python and R) - enough to build and to interrogate what others have built.
  • BI and visualization tools - Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Superset, or similar.
  • Sufficient working knowledge of data pipeline and workflow tooling (e.g. Airflow, dbt, or equivalent ETL frameworks) to write credible requirements, review designs, and hold engineering delivery to account.
  • Working knowledge of data warehousing concepts, data modelling, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Familiarity with machine learning workflows - from feature engineering through model deployment and monitoring.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related quantitative field.

Responsible for supporting the execution of the Bank's strategic plan through data-driven monitoring, performance analysis and strategic insights.
